U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith visited the Bristol Virginia Fire Department on May 27, where he recognized the Swift Water Rescue Team for their significant contributions during recent storms in Southwest Virginia. The team, which has conducted over 80 rescues in six months, was praised by Griffith for their service to local communities such as Tazewell County.

Griffith presented the team with formal remarks that have been entered into the Congressional Record. He stated, “Southwest Virginia is grateful for the Bristol Virginia Swift Water Rescue Team, which tallied more than 80 rescues in a span of 6 months. These rescues required responses in several localities, like Tazewell County. I presented the Rescue Team with a formal extension of remarks, honoring their life-saving work in the Congressional Record for all to see.”

During his visit, Griffith read aloud these remarks to honor the members of the rescue team.
