Virginia residents paid $11,498 to attend the public four-year institution this year, an increase of $336 from the $11,162 charged during the 2021-22 academic year.
Non-resident students were charged 174.8% more than in-state students in 2022-23, paying $31,592. This amount reflects a 3% increase from the $30,672 tuition fee in the previous year.
Approximately 76% of the undergraduate student body at the college are Virginia residents, with about 21% coming from other states and 3% being international students.
Data indicates that all full-time undergraduates who began their studies at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise in 2022-23 received some form of financial aid. A total of 250 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $3.4 million, while 72 students borrowed over $384,227 in student loans.
