The Tazewell County Airport Authority in Richlands, Virginia, has received a $380,100 grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The funds will be used to build a new 6,800 square foot hangar at the Tazewell County Airport.

U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA), who represents Virginia’s 9th district and has served in Congress since 2011 after replacing Rick Boucher, commented on the grant:

“Federal support of the Tazewell County Airport is welcomed by the area.

This DOT grant for $380,100 helps the Tazewell County Airport Authority complete a project that will expand aircraft storage capacity at Tazewell County Airport.”

Griffith previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2000 to 2010. He was born in Philadelphia in 1958 and currently resides in Salem. He holds a BA from Emory and Henry College and a JD from Washington and Lee University.

The funding comes through the FAA’s FY25 Airport Infrastructure Grant program.
