The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development has allocated financial support to the Wise County Public Service Authority in Virginia. The funding consists of a $1,905,000 grant and a $791,000 loan. This assistance aims to facilitate the final phase of water system improvements.

U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith expressed his support for the initiative: “The Wise County Public Service Authority is dedicated to making needed improvements to the County’s water infrastructure.” He added that the funds exceeding $2.6 million would help deliver a reliable water system to the residents of Wise County.

These funds are part of the Water and Waste Disposal Loan & Grant program. USDA Rural Development indicated that this project would address issues such as pressure fluctuations and reduced water storage and flow capacities.

Previously, in August 2023, Congressman Griffith announced nearly $4.8 million in funding for similar improvements in Wise County.
