The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a grant of $1,296,059 to STEP Inc., a community action agency in Franklin County, Virginia. The funding will support the organization’s head start and early head start projects.

U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith expressed his support for the initiative, stating: “Solutions that Empower People (STEP) serves communities in Franklin and Patrick Counties.” He further noted, “This grant for nearly $1.3 million helps STEP support its head start and early head start programs.”

STEP Inc., as described on its website, is an agency that offers services at significant life milestones. Its programs aim to assist individuals and families in overcoming challenges and improving their quality of life through various development initiatives.

During a recent Health Subcommittee hearing attended by Congressman Griffith, Secretary Kennedy highlighted that President Trump’s budget request recommends maintaining Head Start funding at the fiscal year 2025 enacted level.
