The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has allocated a grant of $1,068,364 to Scott County Public School Head Start in Weber City, Virginia. This funding is intended to support head start and early head start initiatives.
U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) commented on the grant: “Local communities in Scott County receive services from Scott County Public School Head Start.” He further added, “This grant for more than $1 million helps Scott County Public School Head Start administer services through its head start and early head start programs.”
Scott County Public School Head Start offers care and education programs aimed at child development and school readiness. The program caters to 147 children across 12 centers in the area.
During a recent Health Subcommittee hearing attended by Congressman Griffith, Secretary Kennedy mentioned that President Trump’s Budget request proposes maintaining the current funding level for Head Start as per the FY 2025 enacted budget.
