There were only four American Indian or Alaskan Native students enrolled in Washington County schools in the 2024-25 school year, 42.9% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Washington County welcomed 6,747 students during the 2024-25 school year. Among them, American Indian or Alaskan Native students comprised only 0.1% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the county.

Abingdon High School, E. B. Stanley Middle School, Rhea Valley Elementary School and Wallace Middle School were the only schools in the county to welcome American Indian or Alaskan Native students during the 2024-25 school year.
