Morgan Griffith, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 9th district since 2011, posted several updates on his official social media account regarding local healthcare, economic policy, and community safety.

On July 29, 2025, Griffith shared his experience meeting with staff at a Roanoke clinic: “Good to meet with personnel and leadership from Roanoke’s Bradley Clinic today! Their services help many in the Ninth.”

The following day, July 30, he commented on economic issues: “Commonsense policies unleash economic prosperity!”

Later that day, Griffith addressed concerns over an incident involving a public official: “I am very concerned about the violent actions against Danville City Councilman Lee Vogler. Our prayers are with Councilman Vogler for recovery. Our civil society does not tolerate violent actions.”

Griffith has represented Virginia’s 9th district in Congress since succeeding Rick Boucher in 2011 and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2000 to 2010. He was born in Philadelphia in 1958 and currently resides in Salem. Griffith holds a BA from Emory and Henry College (1980) and a JD from Washington and Lee University (1983).
