U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith, representing Virginia’s 9th district, posted a series of statements on his official Twitter account in early January 2026 addressing legislative priorities and recent policy developments.
On January 6, Griffith stated, “House Republicans will continue to push solutions that give American families lower costs, more options and expanded access to health care.”
Two days later, he highlighted ongoing legislative discussions with a post on January 8: “An important discussion of today’s bills will highlight needed improvements in patient access to medical equipment, health care services and availability of resources.”
On January 9, Griffith commented on U.S. energy policy following the country’s withdrawal from an international climate fund: “The U.S. pulls out of the UN Green Climate Fund! We can give the world more effective energy solutions that reduce emissions, using innovative technologies that produce clean electricity with our coal and natural gas! A win for affordable, reliable energy!”
Morgan Griffith has served in Congress since 2011 after replacing Rick Boucher. He previously represented constituents in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2000 to 2010. Born in Philadelphia in 1958 and currently residing in Salem, Griffith holds degrees from Emory and Henry College and Washington and Lee University.
