Morgan Griffith, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 9th district, has been active on social media discussing recent developments and engagements. Serving in Congress since 2011, Griffith has shared updates on nominations, energy policies, and industry meetings through his tweets.

On July 1, 2025, Griffith announced that “President Trump announced Former Virginia House Speaker Todd Gilbert’s nomination to be the next U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Virginia.” He extended his congratulations to Gilbert for this significant nomination. The following day, July 2, 2025, Griffith commented on the Department of Energy’s updated NEPA standards. He noted that these changes “will speed up permitting process + construction of energy infrastructure.” He emphasized that under President Biden’s administration, “American energy policies are geared towards verifiable scientific studies and common sense,” rather than unlikely scenarios. Morgan Griffith was born in Philadelphia in 1958 and currently resides in Salem. He graduated from Emory and Henry College in 1980 and earned a JD from Washington and Lee University in 1983.
