U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith, who represents Virginia’s 9th district, shared a series of posts in December 2025 highlighting his recent activities and political positions.
On December 9, Griffith noted his participation in a local veterans’ event: “In November, I attended a dedication ceremony for Bedford’s Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The Memorial’s Board Chairman, Supervisor Mickey Johnson, was one of the leading figures to create this Memorial.”
Later that day, he commented on national energy policy: “Democrats bought into radical ‘Green New Deal’ policies shunning reliable sources of power, like coal and natural gas, resulting in higher energy costs! House Republicans are working to undo Democrats’ high costs agenda and deliver more affordable energy to American consumers.”
On December 10, Griffith addressed regulatory reform: “We will continue to push for commonsense permitting reform!”
Morgan Griffith has served as the U.S. Representative for Virginia’s 9th District since 2011 after succeeding Rick Boucher. Before joining Congress, he served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2000 to 2010. Born in Philadelphia in 1958 and currently residing in Salem, Griffith holds a BA from Emory and Henry College (1980) and a JD from Washington and Lee University (1983).
