Morgan Griffith, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 9th district since 2011, has recently highlighted legislative and public health initiatives through a series of posts on his official Twitter account.
On July 17, 2025, Griffith addressed rural healthcare challenges, stating: “Solving public health workforce shortages and strengthening telehealth access to meet health care needs of rural communities.”
The following day, July 18, he promoted his regular communication with constituents: “CONGRESSMAN GRIFFITH’S WEEKLY E-NEWSLETTER 7.18.25 Topic: Wins”.
On July 19, Griffith shared his participation in a White House event related to drug policy legislation: “It was truly an honor to be at the White House for the signing of the HALT Fentanyl Act, a bill whose core components I drafted and carried on the floor. I look forward to supporting future actions that strengthen our fight against the fentanyl crisis.”
Griffith has represented Virginia’s 9th district in Congress since succeeding Rick Boucher in 2011 and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2000 to 2010. Born in Philadelphia in 1958 and currently residing in Salem, Griffith holds degrees from Emory and Henry College (BA) and Washington and Lee University (JD).
