U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith, who represents Virginia’s 9th district, recently shared a series of posts on social media highlighting legislative initiatives, local heroes, and the commemoration of Pearl Harbor.
On December 5, 2025, Griffith posted about recent tax measures intended to benefit working families and small businesses in Virginia. He wrote: “Delivering help to American small business! Through the Working Families Tax Cuts, Virginia’s working towns, businesses and communities, small and big, benefit from: no tax on tips and hourly overtime and permanent extension of 2017 Tax Cuts.”
The following day, December 6, 2025, he promoted his weekly newsletter with a focus on local history. The post read: “CONGRESSMAN GRIFFITH’S WEEKLY E-NEWSLETTER 12.5.25 Topic: Virginia Heroes: From Rowlett to the Hobacks”.
On December 7, 2025, Griffith marked the anniversary of Pearl Harbor by honoring those who died in the attack. He stated: “Today, we honor the more than 2,300 American personnel who lost their lives in the bombing of Pearl Harbor. While American power would ultimately persevere, we must continue to remember the sacrifices and services of those at Pearl Harbor!”
Morgan Griffith has served in Congress since replacing Rick Boucher in 2011 after previously serving in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2000 to 2010. Born in Philadelphia in 1958 and currently residing in Salem at age 65, Griffith holds a BA from Emory and Henry College (1980) and a JD from Washington and Lee University (1983).
