Morgan Griffith, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 9th district since 2011, recently shared updates on legislative and community efforts via his official Twitter account.
On July 23, Griffith posted about progress toward resolving a long-standing issue in Fairlawn, stating, “My effort to secure a unique ZIP code for Fairlawn, Virginia, is one step closer to becoming law! For years, the lack of a unique ZIP has caused problems for the Fairlawn community. I am proud to have led an effort in the House to remedy this situation.”
Two days later, on July 25, Griffith reported on meetings with education leaders in Washington: “In DC this month, I met with representatives from the Virginia Council of Administrators of Special Education, including one teacher from Radford City Public Schools.” That same day he also promoted his weekly newsletter: “Congressman Griffith’s Weekly E-Newsletter 7.25.25 Topic: Special Opportunity”
Griffith has represented Virginia’s 9th District in Congress since replacing Rick Boucher in 2011 and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2000 to 2010. Born in Philadelphia in 1958 and currently residing in Salem, Griffith holds degrees from Emory and Henry College and Washington and Lee University.
