Morgan Griffith, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 9th district since 2011, has been actively engaging with his community and discussing pertinent issues through various platforms. His recent activities have included participation in local celebrations and addressing legislative matters.

On June 19, 2025, Griffith joined community members, Mayor Greene, Police Chief Cooper, and other local officials in Galax for a Juneteenth celebration. The event marked the dedication of the historic Rosenwald-Felts School, known for its significant role in serving the local African-American community.

The following day, on June 20, 2025, Griffith shared his Weekly E-Newsletter titled “June and the Supreme Court.” The newsletter likely provided insights into current judicial matters and their implications.

Later that same day, Griffith reported on a briefing held earlier in the week at the Highlander Hotel. He discussed economic and health care issues including Reconciliation and Brownfields legislation. He expressed gratitude to Radford University President Danilowicz and other local officials for their engagement during this session (source).

Morgan Griffith was born in Philadelphia in 1958 and resides in Salem. He graduated from Emory and Henry College with a BA in 1980 and earned a JD from Washington and Lee University in 1983.
