Morgan Griffith, U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 9th district since 2011, recently highlighted his efforts to reform New Source Review and addressed energy policy concerns in a series of social media posts.
On December 10, 2025, Griffith stated, “New Source Review reform will allow American industry to keep its competitive edge!”
The following day, he shared further developments on the legislative front with another post: “More support for my New Source Review bill!” (December 11, 2025).
Later that day, Griffith commented on broader energy issues and criticized current Democratic policies: “When you shut down existing plants and constrain electricity supply, prices are going to go up! Who pays? The consumer, that’s you! Republicans are working to deliver reliable and affordable energy options. We must undo Democrats’ ‘Green New Deal’ high cost agenda.” (December 11, 2025).
Griffith has been active in Congress since succeeding Rick Boucher in 2011 and previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2000 to 2010. Born in Philadelphia in 1958 and currently residing in Salem, Griffith earned his BA from Emory and Henry College and a JD from Washington and Lee University.
