U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith, who represents Virginia’s 9th district, recently shared updates on community events in Southwest Virginia through a series of posts on social media.
On July 31, 2025, Griffith posted about his visit to Radford University: “Enjoyed being at Radford University to watch the end of summer scrimmage and meet new men’s basketball head coach, Zach Chu. Go Highlanders!”
Later that day, he highlighted local baseball activity in the region: “More baseball news in the Ninth. The Pulaski River Turtles played their final home game of the season on Wednesday. The night was also highlighted by the singing of the national anthem by a talented young artist! Always a treat to be at Calfee Park.”
On August 1, 2025, Griffith noted economic development in Marion: “The Marion community is excited to see a brand new Food City coming to town! Thursday morning, I joined community leaders for the Food City groundbreaking ceremony.”
Morgan Griffith has represented Virginia’s 9th congressional district since 2011 after succeeding Rick Boucher. He previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2000 to 2010 and holds degrees from Emory and Henry College and Washington and Lee University.
