Congressman Morgan Griffith’s staff will hold traveling office hours across Virginia’s 9th District during December. Staff members will be available in multiple counties and cities to assist constituents with federal agency issues or other concerns.
In case of severe weather, such as heavy snow or icy conditions, scheduled office hours may be postponed for safety reasons. If local schools are closed due to weather, the corresponding office hours will also be canceled. Constituents can call the Christiansburg Office at 540-381-5671 or the Abingdon Office at 276-525-1405 with questions or to make appointments if closures occur.
Office hour locations and times are as follows:
On December 4, staff will visit Bland County Courthouse from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, Wythe County Sheriff’s Office from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm, and Marion Town Hall in Smyth County from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.
December 8 includes stops at the Town of Bedford Municipal Building (9:00 am – 10:30 am) and Franklin County Government Center (12:00 pm – 1:30 pm).
On December 9, staff will be in Bluefield, Tazewell County (10:00 am – 11:30 am) and Buchanan County’s Grundy Offices (1:30 pm – 3:00 pm).
Visits on December 10 include Scott County Administrator’s Office (9:00 am – 10:30 am), Lee County Sheriff’s Office (11:30 am – 1:00 pm), and Big Stone Gap Municipal Complex in Wise County (2:30 pm – 4:00 pm).
Giles County, Radford, and Pulaski County offices are scheduled for December 11. Additional dates include Martinsville, Patrick County, and Floyd County on December 15; Craig County, Dickenson County, Roanoke County, Norton, and Wise on December 16; Carroll County, Galax, and Grayson County on December 17; Tazewell (Tazewell) and Russell Counties on December 18.
Morgan Griffith has represented Virginia’s 9th congressional district since replacing Rick Boucher in Congress in 2011. He previously served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2000 to 2010. Born in Philadelphia in 1958 and currently living in Salem, Griffith graduated from Emory & Henry College in 1980 before earning a law degree from Washington and Lee University three years later.
