Wellmont Lonesome Pine Mt. View Hospital issued the following announcement on Sept. 19
A timely week, International Clean Hands Week is a week dedicated to raising awareness on the importance of hand hygiene.
If we all practiced vigilant hand hygiene, we would eliminate many preventable respiratory and foodborne infectious diseases.
According to the CDC, these are key times to wash your hands:
Before, during, and after preparing food
Before and after eating food
Before and after treating a cut or wound
After using the bathroom
After blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing
After touching an animal, animal feed or animal waste
After handling pet food or pet treats
After touching garbage
