Carilion Tazewell Community Hospital issued the following announcement on Sept. 23
After Nikki Becks endured a horrific car accident, she faced the real possibility that her foot would have to be amputated.
Her surgeons at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital were determined to do everything they could to help her walk again. That team included:
- Peter Apel, M.D., Ph.D., Orthopaedic Surgeon and Hand and Upper Extremity specialist
- Anthony Capito, M.D., Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon
- Randy Clements, D.P.M., Orthopaedic Surgeon and chief of Podiatry
- John Tuttle, M.D., Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine specialist
She's doing that with support from Caroline Egloff, P.T., and the rest of Carilion's Sports Performance and Rehabilitation team.
Watch how Nikki's determination made all the difference in her recovery.
