Rams slip past Koalas

Bluefield College Athletics issued the following announcement on Dec. 9

The Bluefield University Rams women's basketball team picked up an Appalachian Athletic Conference win over the Columbia College Koalas 50-47, Wednesday night. It was the second straight win for BU who improved to 4-7 overall and 4-5 in AAC play.

INSIDE THE GAME

  • The Rams trailed 15-13 after the first quarter but took the lead in the second for a 21-20 halftime lead.
  • After shooting 30% in the first half BU found the basket in the second half and shot 37% from the field in the second half, including 50% in the fourth quarter.
  • Columbia College shot 31% for the game.
  • Bluefield's bench out-scored Columbia's reserves 16-9.
LEADERS

  • Jadyn Hoover led Bluefield with 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists.
