The University of Richmond took down the Longwood women's tennis team 6-1.
Doubles
Longwood (7-11) Senior Emma Nurgazieva and freshman Karina Rizvanova defeated Spiders (6-9) graduate Emily Dunbar and sophomore Sara Salemyr 7-5. Sophomore Zoe Barton and freshman Wiktoria Czerny had a close No.3 doubles against senior Helene Heiberg and junior Emily Garvin before the Spider won out 7-6. Spider sophomore Carly Cohen and junior Marta Buendia bested junior Maria Saez and sophomore Nina Hederich 6-2 in No.2 doubles.
Singles
Barton scored for the Lancers in No.6 singles with a 2-6, 6-2, 11-9 victory against Garvin. Heiberg and Saez duked it out in a competitive No.3 singles match until Heiberg emerged victorious 3-6, 6-1, 10-5. Cohen won no.2 singles with a 7-5, 6-4 score against Rizvanova. Dunbar and Buendia defeated Nurgazieva and Hederich in straight sets in No.1 and No.5 singles, respectively. While Cohen defeated Rizavanova 7-5, 6-4.
