Of the 2,310 people living in Pennington Gap in 2020, 54.5 percent (1,260) were women and 45.5 percent (1,050) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the SW Virginia News.

Females 18 and over outnumbered males in the same age group by 276. In the 65 and over age range, there were 286 females and 130 males.
