Of the 792 people living in Fort Chiswell in 2020, 38.3 percent (303) were women and 61.7 percent (489) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the SW Virginia News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by 88. In the 65 and over age range, there were 51 females and 60 males.
