The Bluefield University Rams stayed alive in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament with a come-from-behind 12-7 win over the third seeded Point University Skyhawks, Thursday morning at Hunter Wright Stadium. With the win the Rams picked up their 30th win of the season and advanced to Friday's semi-final round of play.
INSIDE THE GAME
- The Rams took a 1-0 lead in the first on a Skyhawks error.
- Point built a 5-1 lead after five innings.
- Bluefield tied the game in the sixth. Kevin Torres had an RBI single and Bryce Medlock smacked a three-run homer to knot the score.
- Point retook the lead in the seventh, 7-5.
- The Rams exploded in the seventh inning. Clay Wisner started the scoring with a two-run home run. Max Aristy had an RBI single, Medlock and David Meech each had two-run singles as BU scored seven times to take a 12-7 lead.
- Cobb was 3-for-3.
- Medlock was 3-for-4 with five RBIs and a home run.
- Meech and Taylor Meaux each had two hits.
- Wisner had a home run with two RBIs.
- Tyler Lowrey picked up the win pitching the final three innings.
