Over the summer, the athletic department at Longwood announced four promotions of Longwood athletics staff: Carly Fullerton, Hannah Ledger and Jenna Burks.
Carly Fullerton was promoted to Associate Athletics Director for Health, Wellness and Performance, and she is the department's Senior Woman Administrator (SWA). Hannah Ledger was named Associate Athletics Director for Academics and Student Services. Jenna Burks was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Business Operations
"This is a well-deserved opportunity for Carly, Hannah, and Jenna," said associate athletics director Austin Shaver. "We have a strong core group of veterans who have all had a big impact here at Longwood, and I'm glad to work with them. I'm excited for them to continue to grow going forward, and I know the future continues to be bright for Longwood athletics."
Fullerton, a 2007 graduate of Longwood, is entering her 15th year at Longwood. A veteran of the department, she has covered a variety of sports throughout her professional career.
Currently, she covers men's basketball, as she has for the past four seasons, and she is the head of the sports medicine department. In addition, she will now oversee the department's sports performance personnel. In her role as the SWA, she also works with the Big South Conference administration as a representative of Longwood.
Ledger is entering her 12th year at Longwood and sixth in the athletic department. She oversees academics for all student-athletes, including tutoring, study tables and one-on-one meetings. She will also oversee the compliance department as part of her expanded duties.
Thanks to her tireless work with student-athletes this past year, Longwood posted a record-high GPA for the academic year this past year. Student-athletes achieved a 3.21 cumulative GPA on the year, the first time the department has achieved at least a 3.20 or better. A total of 96 student-athletes earned either President's List or Dean's List recognition.
Jenna Burks is entering her eight year in the Longwood athletics department. She has worked within business operations for the entirety of her time at Longwood. She helps oversee purchases and internal processes for the department as a whole.
