Longwood Opens Road Swing At San DiegoThe Opening Tip
•    Longwood opens a five game road swing with a trip to San Diego.
•    During the road trip, the Lancers will play in five different states and three different time zones.All told, the team will travel more than 9,500 miles over the course of four weeks.
•    The Lancers have scored at least 90 points in four of their past five games, and they shot better than 50 percent in each outing where they scored 90 or more.
•    On the season, the Lancers are shooting .503 from the floor and .399 from three. Both would be program bests under Griff Aldrich.
•    Three players are averaging at least 10 points per game on the season. Isaiah Wilkins leads the team at 11.3 points per game, with Leslie Nkereuwem (10.7 points) and Walyn Napper (10.6 points) right behind him.
 
Last Time Out
•    Longwood blitzed Mary Baldwin to wrap up a five-game homestand on Friday, 112-60.
•    The Lancers tied for 10th all time in most points scored in a game, and the team shot .710 (44-62) from the floor, the program's Division I record.
•    Longwood never trailed in the contest.
•    The team had 22 assists on 44 made shots, and every player that played scored.
•    Leslie Nkereuwem scored four of the team's first six points, and the Lancers were off and running. Nkereuwem had a game-high 15 points.
•    Zac Watson had a season-high 14 points, and Michael Christmas added 12 points. Jesper Granlund scored 10 points, all in the first half, and Isaiah Wilkins also had 10 points.
 
By The Numbers
•    The Lancers have topped 90 points in four of their past five games, and they have shot better than 50 percent from the floor in all four contests.
•    Longwood has shot better than 60 percent from the floor twice in its past three games, with the team's .710 (44-62) shooting performance against Mary Baldwin the top mark in the team's Division I history.
•    The Lancers also shot .698 (37-53) against Fairleigh Dickinson on Saturday, Nov. 19, which set the record that was subsequently broken on Nov. 25.
•    Longwood has been efficient, in part, thanks to a relentless attack on the paint. The Lancers are averaging 40 points per game in the paint this season.
•    The team's high-water mark was 56 points in the paint against Pfeiffer. Longwood also scored 54 against Mary Baldwin.
•    Longwood ranks second in the Big South in scoring at 82.9 points per game.
•    The Lancer defense has been tough to crack, holding opponents to a .415 (167-402) shooting percentage. That mark is fourth best in the Big South.
•    The Lancers are averaging 9.4 offensive rebounds per game, and the team has grabbed at least 10 offensive boards in five of their seven games. Longwood ranked 27th in the nation last season by pulling down 12.2 offensive rebounds per game.
•    Longwood leads the Big South in turnover margin at +4.1. The Lancers average 10.9 turnovers per game while forcing 15.
•    The Lancers are second in the league in assist/turnover ratio at 1.3. Longwood averages 14.6 assists per game to only 10.8 turnovers.
•    Longwood has assisted on 47 percent of its baskets this season. The team has had a 50 percent assist rate two times in the past five games, including the effort against VMI that saw 25 assists on 33 made shots.
 
Series History
•  This will be the first meeting between the two teams in program history.
•  Longwood last traveled to California in 2019. The Lancers played at both UC Riverside and Pacific.
