Rams win third straight, top Tennessee Wesleyan at Dome
Bluefield University's women's basketball team pushed its winning streak to three games with a 76-69 win over the Tennessee Wesleyan University Bulldogs, Saturday afternoon at the Dome Gymnasium. With the win the Rams improved to 5-4 in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and 5-6 overall. At halftime of the game, spectators showered the court with Teddy Bears in the inaugural Teddy Bear Toss. The collected items will be presented to Bluefield Union Mission to assist families in need.
INSIDE THE GAME
- Both teams struggled from the field in the first half. TWU led 17-16 at the end of the first quarter and 34-32 at halftime.
- The Rams took the lead for good in the third quarter and moved ahead by as many as 11 points.
- Kylie Meadows led BU with 17 points, six rebounds, and three assists.
- Jaydn Hoover dropped in 16 points and pulled down six rebounds.
- Emily Breeding finished with 13 points and five boards.
- Kiaa Boyd picked up a double-double with 13 rebounds and 12 points. Boyd assed three steals.
