Rams cut down Trailblazers
Troy Liebert pitched a complete game and allowed one run on five hits as the Bluefield University Rams defeated the Ohio Christian University Trailblazers, Tuesday afternoon. Liebert struck out three and did not walk a batter.
The Bluefield bats were also hot on Tuesday as they collected 16 hits on OCU pitchers. Seven of the nine Bluefield batters had two hits. Dylan Cutler, Max Aristy, Tyler Lathrop, Bryce Medlock, Brady Joslyn, David Meech, and Johnny Medina each had a pair of hits. Aristy drove in four runs, Cutler three.
The Rams raced out to a 7-0 lead scoring four in the second and three in the third. BU added a single run in the fourth and finished with three in the sixth. The game ended after seven innings due to the 10-run rule.
Bluefield is back in action Thursday as Reinhardt University visits Bowen Field to open a three-game Appalachian Athletic Conference series.
