HHS Head Start Grant of $1,266,794 Awarded to Rocky Mount’s STEP, Inc

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a grant of $1,266,794 to Solutions That Empower People (STEP), Inc in Rocky Mount, Virginia for Head Start projects. This grant will support child development services for families and children in Bedford, Franklin, Henry, and Patrick Counties, as well as the City of Martinsville.

Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) expressed his support for the grant and highlighted the importance of STEP's work in the community. He stated, "I had the privilege of visiting STEP's Rocky Mount facility back in August. This $1,266,794 grant from the Department of Health and Human Services will aid in child development services rendered to families and children of Bedford, Franklin, Henry and Patrick Counties, and the City of Martinsville."

The Head Start program is a federal initiative that provides comprehensive early childhood education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services to low-income families.
