Enrollment Analysis: American Indian students comprised 0.2% of Russell County Public Schools District's student body in 2023-24 school year

There were seven American Indian students enrolled in Russell County Public Schools District in the 2023-24 school year, 30% less than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Data showed that Russell County Public Schools District welcomed 3,454 students during the 2023-24 school year. Among them, American Indian students comprised 0.2% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the school.

Russell County Public Schools District roughly covers schools within Russell County and has a main office in Lebanon.

Honaker Elementary School was the only school in the district which enrolled American Indian students, welcoming seven in the 2023-24 school year.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools have an average student-to-teacher ratio of 14:1, slightly better than the national average of 15:1. Minority students, primarily Hispanic and Black, make up 54% of the enrollment, while white students constitute 46%.
