Carroll County schools welcomed 249 7th-grade students in 2023-24 school year

There were 249 7th-grade students enrolled in Carroll County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 2.7% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of 7th-grade students in the county was Carroll County Middle School.

Within Carroll County schools, the largest number of students were found in 9th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Carroll County ranked 71st in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 69th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
