Russell County schools welcomed 299 10th-grade students in 2023-24 school year

There were 299 10th-grade students enrolled in Russell County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 11.2% more than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of 10th-grade students in the county was Lebanon High School.

Within Russell County schools, the largest number of students were found in 10th-grade, while 4th-grade had the least students.

Statewide, Russell County ranked 70th in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 74th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
