246 kindergarten students enrolled in Russell County schools in 2023-24 school year

There were 246 kindergarten students enrolled in Russell County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 0.4% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of kindergarten students in the county was Lebanon Primary School.

Within Russell County schools, the largest number of students were found in 10th-grade, while 4th-grade had the least students.

Statewide, Russell County ranked 70th in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 74th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
