2023-24 School Year Enrollment: 145 10th-grade students welcomed in Dickenson County schools

There were 145 10th-grade students enrolled in Dickenson County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 9.4% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Ridgeview High School was the only school that welcomed 10th-grade students in the county.

Within Dickenson County schools, the largest number of students were found in 9th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Dickenson County ranked 104th in enrollment numbers. It was ranked 96th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
