Morgan Griffith comments on Pearl Harbor anniversary and legal verdict

Morgan Griffith, a U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 9th district, shared a series of tweets recently, covering topics ranging from historical commemorations to legal verdicts. Griffith, who has been serving in Congress since 2011 after replacing Rick Boucher, is known for his engagement on various social and political issues.

On December 7, 2024, Griffith marked the anniversary of a significant historical event. He tweeted: "Today marks the 83rd anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, where more than 2,300 Americans perished as a result of the surprise attack. We forever engrained this into our memories as 'a date which will live in infamy' and battled our way to victory in World War II."

The following day, December 8, he posted about his weekly newsletter. In his tweet, he wrote: "CONGRESSMAN GRIFFITH’S WEEKLY E-NEWSLETTER 12.6.24 Topic: The Legislator and the Ombudsman". The newsletter seems to delve into legislative matters and oversight roles.

On December 9, Griffith commented on a recent legal decision involving Daniel Penny. He stated: "NEWS: Daniel Penny Found Not Guilty Daniel Penny is an American who served his country admirably in the Marine Corps. In the military, he received several ribbons and awards common in peacetime activity. I am relieved by this decision, and I hope no further charges are pursued." This tweet reflects Griffith's personal relief regarding the verdict.
