In response to the recent verdict from a New York court, U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) has expressed his relief regarding the outcome of Daniel Penny's trial. Penny was found not guilty of negligent homicide in the death of Jordan Neely.
Griffith commented on Penny's military service, stating: “Daniel Penny is an American who served his country admirably in the United States Marine Corps. In the military, he received several ribbons and awards common in peacetime activity, according to his military records, and achieved a promotion to sergeant."
He further added, “I am relieved by the decision reached today in New York, and I hope no further charges are pursued.”
