The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has granted $100,000 to the New River Valley Regional Commission. This funding aims to aid disaster recovery and provide technical assistance to 12 communities affected by Hurricane Helene. U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) commented on the grant:

“This ARC grant for $100,000 helps New River Valley Regional Commission provide funding application assistance and relevant disaster relief resources to communities that fall under their jurisdiction.”

The New River Valley Regional Commission will distribute and manage this assistance across 12 communities in Giles, Montgomery, and Pulaski counties, as well as the City of Radford.
