Richlands High School had the highest enrollment among Tazewell County schools, welcoming 600 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed at the time, 52.5% of them were female, and 47.5% were male.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 96.7% of Richlands High School's total enrollment.

Among the 13 schools in Tazewell County, Richlands Elementary School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 561 students, while Graham High School welcomed 535 students to be ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

Richlands High School is part of Tazewell County Public Schools District, which roughly covers schools within Tazewell County, with its main office in Richlands.

In the previous school year, Richlands High School also had the highest number of students among Tazewell County schools.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
