Lee High School in Lee County welcomed most students in 2023-24 school year

Lee High School had the highest enrollment among Lee County schools, welcoming 777 students during the 2023-24 school year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

Of all the students welcomed at the time, 50.8% of them were female, and 49.2% were male.

Data also showed that most of the students were white, representing 96.8% of Lee High School's total enrollment.

Among the 10 schools in Lee County, Flatwoods Elementary School ranked second in enrollment numbers with 333 students, while Elk Knob Elementary School welcomed 308 students to be ranked third in the 2023-24 school year.

Lee High School is part of Lee County Public Schools District, which roughly covers schools within Lee County, with its main office in Jonesville.

In the previous school year, Lee High School also had the highest number of students among Lee County schools.

According to Public School Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14 in the 2023-24 school year, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools.
