Morgan Griffith, a current U.S. Congressman representing Virginia’s 9th district, shared updates regarding his activities in response to recent weather events and ongoing recovery efforts in Southwest Virginia through a series of tweets.

On February 18, 2025, Griffith reported on his visit to Wise County where he assessed flood damage caused by weekend storms. He also relayed an advisory from Governor Youngkin: "As snowfall is expected in the next 24 hours, please follow Governor Youngkin’s recommendation to not go out on the roads tonight past midnight."

In a tweet posted later that day on February 19, Griffith emphasized his commitment to supporting recovery efforts in Southwest Virginia: "I will continue to advocate for Southwest Virginia and use every resource at my disposal to ensure recovery efforts are sufficiently supported."

Continuing his inspection tour on February 19, Griffith joined Sheriff Fleming in Dickenson County. Together they evaluated flood damage and engaged with first responders as part of their assessment process: "After Wise County, I joined Sheriff Fleming in Dickenson to inspect flood damage and speak with first responders."
