Terry Kilgore, a public figure known for his active presence on social media, recently shared his thoughts on two significant topics through a series of tweets. On June 14, 2025, he addressed a tragic incident in Minnesota involving violence against public servants and expressed personal sentiments about fatherhood the following day.
In a tweet posted on June 14, Kilgore condemned an act of violence in Minnesota that resulted in the death of Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband. State Senator John Hoffman and his wife were critically injured in the same attack. Kilgore stated, “The senseless violence in Minnesota that lead to the death of public servants Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband as well as the critical injuries of State Senator John Hoffman and his wife is reprehensible. This type of targeted attack has no place in our society.”
Continuing on this topic later that day, Kilgore urged others to join him in condemning the violence and offered prayers for those affected by it. He wrote, “I hope you’ll join me in condemning this violence and praying for the families and loved ones of those involved and the quick recovery of Sen. Hoffman and his wife.”
On June 15, Kilgore shifted focus to express gratitude for family life during Father’s Day celebrations. He reflected on his experiences as a father and grandfather by stating, “Being a dad to Kayla and Kyle, and now Grandad to Nola, Kylie, and Ruby Mae, has been the greatest blessing of my life.” He extended appreciation towards fathers everywhere by adding thanks for “my wonderful wife Debbie” while acknowledging all fathers who “lead with love, strength, and faith.”
Additional information indicates that Representative Melissa Hortman was serving as Speaker of the Minnesota House at the time.
