The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a grant of $414,482 to Virginia Tech for cancer research. The funding is aimed at supporting the university’s ongoing efforts in health research initiatives focused on treatments and immunotherapies for cancer.

U.S. Congressman Morgan Griffith expressed his support for the grant, stating: “Virginia Tech leads important health research initiatives that test treatments and immunotherapies for cancer.” He added, “This HHS grant for more than $400,000 helps Virginia Tech pursue a project focused on treating cancer.”

The funds were allocated through the HHS Exploratory/Developmental Grants program, which promotes new research activities in specific program areas. The Virginia Tech Cancer Research Alliance, established in 2019, includes scientists dedicated to developing new preventions, diagnostics, and therapeutics for various cancers.
