MEN'S GOLF COMPETES IN HICKORY
The men's golf team at UVA Wise finished 13th in the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Inviational – SAC Preview held at Catawba Springs this week. Evan Sturgill's team shot 1,004 in the event with Peyton Wilson being the team's top golfer by finishing in a tie for 79th with a score of 250. Host Lenoir-Rhyne won the team title with a score of 866 while Wingate's Colin Dutton's 209 took home medalist accolades.
Wilson played his best golf over the final 18 holes as she shot an 80 after carding an 85 in each of the first two rounds. Evan Blanton shot a 251 to finish 81st with Tanner Devlin finishing 82nd with a score of 252. Evan Loftis (85th place) and Jack England (88th place) rounded out Cavaliers in the field with scores of 256 and 260 respectively.
The team wraps up the fall season later this week at the Buzz Off Invitational. Play begins Saturday at Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon, Va.
