Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Wins Twice in Puerto Rico Clasico
The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team (4-1, 0-0 SAC) picked up two victories over the holiday weekend in the 2022 Puerto Rico Clasico. The Wasps defeated Caribbean University-Bayamon Sunday morning by a 95-69 margin, before dispatching University of Puerto Rico-Cayey 100-56 on Monday.

The Caribbean-Bayamon Game- The Wasps jumped on the Gryphons early as they ran out to a 52-32 lead at the halftime break. E&H continued to apply pressure, converting 19 total turnovers into 24 points en route to a 95-69 victory.- Freshman forward Jacob Dar (Omaha, Neb.) was the catalyst on the offensive end for the Wasps as he led the squad with 19 points, one assist and a steal. Sophomore guard/forward Gabe Brown (Clintwood, Va.) added 18 points, two rebounds and an assist.
The Puerto Rico-Cayey Game- E&H took the lead in its second game in as many days and pushed the score to a 39-28 margin at the midway point. E&H had five different players score in double figures and cruised to a 100-56 win.The Wasps racked up a huge advantage on the glass, out-rebounding UPR-Cayey by a 45-17 margin and turned those rebounds into 24 second chance points compared to just three for UPR-Cayey.- Dar was the leading scorer once more for E&H as he contributed 15 points and five rebounds while senior guard Kevin Grau Rodriguez (Tampa, Fla.) had 14 points, three rebounds and two assists. Sophomore guard Jalen Leftwich (Lynchburg, Va.) added 12 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals. Brown had 12 points and freshman guard Christian Drummer (Lawrenceville, Ga.) contributed ten to round out the Wasps in double figures.
