6.4% of Tazewell County residents considered unemployed in 2021

Tazewell County recorded an unemployment rate of 6.4% among residents aged 16 and 65 years old in 2021. That’s 1,002 people out of the 40,615 living in Tazewell County at the time, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau.

The unemployment rate in Tazewell County has decreased compared to the 7% registered in 2020.

The percentage of people unemployed in Tazewell County was greater than the statewide unemployment rate of 4.5%.

Of the 14,662 people who had a job during that time, 11 were employed in the Armed Forces and 14,651 belonged to the civilian labor force.
