Griffith Announces $700,000 to Lee County for Waterline Replacement Project

Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) announced today that the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has allocated $700,000 to Lee County for the St. Charles Monarch Waterline Replacement Project. The initiative aims to replace 9,970 linear feet of waterline, along with the installation of 4 gate valves and 1 fire hydrant, ultimately benefitting 38 households in St. Charles.

In a statement regarding the grant, Congressman Griffith emphasized the importance of the project, stating, "Water service plays a critical role in promoting public health and increasing quality of life. This $700,000 grant from ARC to make substantial improvements to the waterline in St. Charles will benefit its residents by providing better access and improving water quality."

The funding provided by the ARC will enable significant enhancements to the water infrastructure in St. Charles, ultimately improving the lives of the community members through better water access and quality.
