Today, the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) has allocated $300,000 to the Friends of Southwest Virginia to support their Gateways to the Southwest Virginia: Outdoor Economy Recreation Plans. This funding will aid in finalizing the strategic planning for outdoor recreation across most of the Southwest Virginia region.
In response to this allocation, Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "This $300,000 grant from ARC to help complete outdoor recreation strategic planning is great news. People of all ages can benefit from outdoor recreation activities, both mentally and physically, and I am glad such options are being expanded through this project."
