2023-24 School Year Enrollment: 108 6th-grade students welcomed in Grayson County schools

There were 108 6th-grade students enrolled in Grayson County schools in the 2023-24 school year, 11.5% fewer than the previous year, according to the Virginia Department of Education.

The school that enrolled the largest number of 6th-grade students in the county was Independence Middle School.

Within Grayson County schools, the largest number of students were found in 5th-grade, while pre-kindergarten had the least students.

Statewide, Grayson County ranked 106th in enrollment numbers. It was also ranked 106th the year before.

As of November 2023, according to Public Schools Review, Virginia public schools saw an average student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 1:14, which is better than the national average of 1:15 in public schools nationwide.
