Cost of college went up for all students at Bluefield College

Tuition and fees rose 5.1 percent for 2018-19 at Bluefield College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Virginia students paid $26,060 to attend the four-year private not-for-profit institution this year – $1,260 more than the $24,800 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 100 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 208 students received grants or scholarships totaling $3.1 million and 171 students took out student loans totaling more than $1.1 million.

Including all undergraduates (1,156), 848 students used grants or scholarships totaling $10.9 million, and 680 students took out $4.9 million in federal student loans.
